My name is Juliette and I am new yoga teacher here in Cusco, exploring the sacred experience of sharing this ancient practice with fellow yogis on the path. I have found a passion for connecting with people in the deep authentic space that a yoga practice helps to cultivate. I take each class as an opportunity to deepen my own practice and learn from the unique flow of each of my students! I feel deeply connected to the idea of ayni (a quechua word that represents a sense of reciprocity), honoring that we are all students and all teachers on this path, helping each other to shine light on our shadows and find union with our true Self. I began practicing in 2014 having just finished college and working in my first job at a non-profit in Chapel Hill, NC. Looking to relieve some stress and strengthen my body, I turned to yoga. Little did I know this practice would completely transform my life from the inside out. I found my way to the Sivananda Ashram and Yoga Retreat Center in the Bahamas and served as a Karma Yogi for three months. Participating in the daily meditations, asana classes, workshops, and satsangs (spiritually oriented communal gatherings) allowed me to develop a strong connection to the ancient roots of these teachings. I was able to experience the infinite potential for growth that a consistent yoga practice can offer someone on their journey through life. I decided that this was a tool I want to have under my belt and made the decision to attend a yoga teacher training. I completed my 200 hour training through the SchoolYoga Institute on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala at the Mystical Yoga Farm. This magical yet challenging experience provided me with the tools and knowledge to go deeper into my personal practice and tap into my innate capacity for connection with all of existence. After spending some time to integrate all I had learned and experienced during my training and the years of practice beforehand, I finally felt ready to open myself up as a channel for the teachings. I spent two months teaching at a boutique surf hotel in Costa Rica, and feeling called back to the beautiful country of Peru, I eventually found myself living in Cusco and in a place to continue cultivating my practicing and connecting with others looking to deepen their embodied experience in this life. I enjoy teaching vinyasa based classes with an emphasis on our connection to the breath, our awareness of the body, and our focus in the mind. I aim to guide students into a deep space where they feel open, safe, and supported in order to truly let go and experience a state of yoga or union with the divine (whatever that means to you)! Join me on this journey towards a greater sense of freedom in the body, peace of the mind, and connection to the spirit within. ~ Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu ~ May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and freedom for all. Con amor! ~ Juliette QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
